Résumé

Over the past five years, more than 3000 persons have died anonymously, and alone most of the time. All have risked their lives to work in the United States.

They’re not from Mexico, but from Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Columbia, Equator – 7000 kilometers south of the US. As soon as they leave their country they find themselves in hell.

This film tells the story of a family from Equator, following it day in, day out, for months as the family attempts to reach the American dream: their travel as illegal immigrants, their failures and success and finally their awareness of the price that must be paid for this exodus, where there’s no turning back.

But the film is not just the story of one immigrant family, it is also the story of those who constitute contemporary American society; it shows that the Mexican/US border is only the most visible part of a long and dangerous voyage that is heavy with consequences in the social history of the South-American continent.
